Three-time defending Jones Cup men’s competition champions, Iran national basketball team, looks to make it four championships in a row in this year’s tournament.
The 2012 William Jones Cup Men’s Tournament started last August 18 and will continue on up to August 26, 2012.
The 34th annual international basketball tourney features a total of nine teams for the men’s competition and the games are held live at the Hsinchuang Gymnasium in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
Participating for the men’s group are; Iran, Jordan, Japan, South Korea, Philippines (Smart Gilas Pilipinas), two teams for Republic of China (or commonly known as Taiwan), Lebanon and United States of America.
This year’s competition will go back to the traditional single round robin format to determine this year’s champions.
