British boxing star Amir Khan is going to defend his unified title belts this December.

With an eight-bout win streak, he is going to face Lamont Peterson who won twice in his last three matches, the other one was a draw.

The boxing light welterweight title Amir Khan vs Lamont Peterson fight video dubbed as “Capital Showdown” is set to take place on December 10, 2011 live at the Convention Center in Washington, District of Columbia, USA and on HBO WCB (World Championship Boxing).

Amir Khan, “King Khan”, from United Kingdom, the #1 Junior Welterweight as ranked by The Ring has a current professional record of 26 wins (18 by way of knock out) and 1 loss. He’s the current unified IBF and WBA World Super Lightweight Super Champion and his last fight was a 5th Round KO win on Khan vs Judah, July 2011.

While Lamont Peterson, “Havoc”, from United States of America, the #6 Junior Welterweight as ranked by the same magazine has a current professional record of 29 wins (15 by way of knock out), 1 loss and 1 draw. His last fight was a 12th Round KO win over Victor Manuel Cayo, July 2011.

The Khan vs Peterson video will be a light welterweight division title match with Amir’s IBF and WBA belts at stake.

Both boxers currently only lost once in their professional careers. Amir recently unified his WBA title with his opponent’s IBF belt while Lamont won his IBF Light Welterweight title eliminator match.

Now as the mandatory challenger, Peterson has a chance to win his first world title. He described the fight in prospect as “for sure the biggest and (most) exciting fight of my career so far”, later adding “on 10 December, I will make my dreams come true and ruin Amir’s plans to reign over his division”.
