The MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA is the venue for Mayweather vs Ortiz.
Highlighting the main event is the WBC World Welterweight title bout between American Floyd “Money” Mayweather, Jr and Mexican-American Victor “Vicious” Ortiz.
On September 17, 2011, Victor will defend his welterweight championship belt for the first time after capturing last April. Apart from that, he is looking to hand the former top of the pound-for-pound boxer in the world Floyd his first professional loss.
In the undercards, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will defend his WBC World Super Welterweight title against Alfonso Gomez, Erik “El Terible” Morales looks to win his fourth world title in as many weight classes against Pablo Cesar “El Demoledor” Cano while Jessie “La Nueva Generacion” Vargas faces Josesito Lopez in a light welterweight match-up.

Thanks for posting! I enjoy watching boxing, but don’t follow it seriously. It’s the most exciting professional sport, my opinion. This 44-year-old-lady isn’t the biggest sports fan in general. Ortiz calls to my mind that other young Mexican-American up and coming boxer from a few years back. Can’t think of his name, Francisco Vargas? The Aztec Kid? I’m not comparing them, I’m referring to the spirit and humble pride they displayed upon entering the ring, and the “look” of hope in their eyes. Both very young, too. Thanks again!
