Former Light Heavyweight champ Rashad Evans is going to fight inside the octagon once again over one year after his previous victory.
With a two-bout win streak, he will face another former champ Tito Ortiz who got his first victory since 2006 just a month ago.
The MMA light heavyweight Rashad Evans vs Tito Ortiz 2 rematch fight video is set to take place on August 6, 2011 live at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA and on PPV (Pay-Per-View).

He’s The Ultimate Fighter Season 2 Heavyweight Winner and a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. His last fight was a Unanimous Decision win on Rampage vs Evans, May 2010.
While Tito Ortiz, “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy”, also from United States of America has a mixed martial arts record of 16 wins (8 by way of knock out, 3 by submission), 8 losses and 1 draw. He’s a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and his last fight was a 1st Round Submission win on Ortiz vs Bader, July 2011.
The Evans vs Ortiz 2 video will be an Ultimate Fighting Championship non-title match.
In their first match-up at UFC 73 four years ago, Rashad and Tito fought to a draw as all three judges scored the bout 28-28. Tito should have won the bout because he had won two out of three rounds on all scorecards but, he was deducted a point for holding the cage fence to defend against a takedown by Rashad.
After the bout, Ortiz asked for a rematch. Then at a UFC 73 post-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White promised a rematch, but it never materialized immediately.
For this upcoming event, it was expected to feature Jon Jones’ first defense of his light heavyweight title against Rashad but during the newly crowned champ’s previous win, he tore a ligament in his right hand.
Phil Davis was tapped as replacement to Jon. However, on July 12, he pulled out of the bout due to a knee injury suffered during training. Tito was then offered to step in but initially declined.
The camp of Lyoto Machida then verbally accepted the bout but when Dana White called Lyoto’s camp again to confirm the match, they said that Lyoto would fight only if he received higher pay, which Dana declined. In the meanwhile, Ortiz reconsidered the offer and will now replace Davis.
Four years after their first match, they will finally meet again inside the octagon. Who will emerge victorious this time?
