The Wladimir Klitschko greatest hits boxing video contains some highlights from his professional boxing career as updated and uploaded by HBO Sports as of June 2011.
Klitschko had been undefeated on his first 24 professional fights. In his 25th bout last December 1998, he suffered his first loss in the hands of Ross Puritty by 11th Round TKO.
After the loss, he won his next ten fights in a span of just less than two years, seven of which happened all in 1999.
On October 14, 2000, he fought WBO World Heavyweight Champion Chris Byrd who had previously upset his elder brother Vitali (who pulled out injured during their bout). Wladimir won by Unanimous Decision to capture his first world title.
He defended his belt five times over Derrick Jefferson, Charles Shufford, Francois Botha, Ray Mercer and Jameel McCline before losing it to Corrie Sanders wherein he lost by TKO in the second round last March 2003.
Klitschko won his next two matches over Fabio Eduardo Moli and Danell Nicholson then got a chance to win the WBO belt back against Lamon Brewster on April 2004.
In that championship bout, he sent Lamon to the canvas in round four, however, things turned around in the fifth when Brewster’s punches began backing him up. Not defending himself and leaning into ropes for support, Wladimir took a standing eight count. On unsteady legs, he went to his knees after the bell and the referee stopped the fight for his safety.
Following his loss to Brewster, he picked up three straight victories over DaVarryl Williamson, Eliseo Castillo and Samuel Peter to position himself into title contention once more.
On April 22, 2006, he faced the then IBF World Heavyweight Champion Chris Byrd in a rematch. In the seventh round of their match, Wladimir knocked down Chris. Although he beat the count, his face was battered and bloody, and the fight was waved off by the referee awarding Klitschko a TKO victory and the IBF belt as well as the vacant IBO Heavyweight title.
As a champion once again, he defended the IBF and IBO belts three times over Calvin Brock, Ray Austin and avenge his third career loss with a win over Lamon Brewster in a rematch.
In his next bout, he dominated the then WBO World Heavyweight Champion Sultan Ibragimov and won by UD to unify the IBF, IBO and WBO titles. Then, after successful defenses over Tony Thompson, Hasim Rahman, he added The Ring Heavyweight title with a 9th Round RTD win over Ruslan Chagaev.
After that, he got two KO victories over Eddie Chambers and Samuel Peter in a rematch on Klitschko vs Peter 2.
On July 2, 2011, Wladimir finally faced David Haye after three years of trash talks and challenging. Prior to their bout, a heated Klitschko vs Haye – Face Off with Max Kellerman interview occurred.
And on the Klitschko vs Haye fight, Wladimir dominated WBA World Heavyweight Champion Haye in twelve rounds and won via UD to unify the three out of the four major boxing world titles.
Eight months later, he successfully defended his titles on the Klitschko vs Mormeck bout by knocking out Jean-Marc in the fourth round.
