This July, a huge two-day basketball event will happen in Manila. The current NBA’s hottest stars will go up against the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) selection team and the Smart Gilas Pilipinas team in two exhibition games.
The Smart Ultimate All-Star Weekend is set to happen on July 23 and 24, 2011 live at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe “The Black Mamba” Bryant, who had a successful 2011 Kobe Manila Tour last week, will be back in the Philippines to lead the Smart All-Stars team as a playing coach.
Along with him are fellow LA teammate Derek Fisher, 2011 All-Stars Chris Paul, Kevin Durant and 2011 NBA MVP Derrick Rose.
Completing the visiting team line-up are young stars James Harden, Javale McGee, 2011 NBA Draft‘s Number 2 overall pick Derrick Williams and 2010 Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans.
On July 23, the Smart All-Stars vs PBA Selection exhibition game starts at 7:00 PM (GMT+8).
Then on July 24 starting at 1:00 PM (GMT+8), the Smart Gilas Pilipinas vs Smart All-Stars exhibition game plus other activities like the dunk contest and 3-point shootout will take place at the coliseum.
For the Smart Ultimate All-Star Weekend video, watch the live stream for the July 23 event at 7:00 PM on AKTV on IBC 13 then for the July 24 event, a delayed telecast on 5:30 PM on the same network will be aired. You also can watch the replay highlights after the event night whenever available.
