Women’s welterweight champ Marloes Coenen is going to defend her Strikeforce title belt for the second time this July.
She will face Miesha Tate who won her last five matches.

Marloes Coenen, “Rumina”, from Netherlands has a mixed martial arts record of 19 wins (3 by way of knock out, 14 by submission) and 4 losses. She’s the current Strikeforce Women’s Welterweight Champion and her last fight was a 4th Round Submission win on Coenen vs Carmouche, March 2011.
While Miesha Tate, “Takedown”, from United States of America has a mixed martial arts record of 11 wins (3 by way of knock out, 4 by submission) and 2 losses. She became the FCF Women’s Bantamweight Champion and her last fight was a Unanimous Decision win over Hitomi Akano, August 2010.
The Coenen vs Tate video will be a Strikeforce title match with Marloes’ belt at stake.
Marloes was scheduled to defend her title against Miesha last March but the challenger was forced off the card due to injury and was replaced by Liz Carmouche.
Now, their match is finally on. Can the champion successfully defend her title? Or will the challenger upset her and be crowned the new champ?

This match was originally scheduled to be for the Women’s Welterweight belt, but Zuffa changed the title held by Coenen from Welterweight to Bantamweight prior to the fight taking place in order to unify all weight classes.
