Ukrainian boxing star Wladimir Klitschko is going to defend his world championship belts once again.
But this time, he is going to face fellow world champ David Haye in title unification match.
The boxing heavyweight title Wladimir Klitschko vs David Haye fight video is set to take place on July 2, 2011 live at the Imtech-Arena in Altona, Hamburg, Germany and on HBO WCB (World Championship Boxing).
Wladimir Klitschko, “Dr. Steelhammer”, from Ukraine, the Heavyweight Champion and the #5 pound-for-pound in the world as ranked by The Ring has a current professional record of 55 wins (49 by way of knock out) and 3 losses. He’s the current IBO, IBF and WBO World Heavyweight Champion and his last fight was a 10th Round KO win on Klitschko vs Peter 2, September 2010.
While David Haye, “Hayemaker”, from England, the #3 Heavyweight as ranked by the same magazine has a current professional record of 25 wins (23 by way of knock out) and 1 loss. He’s a former unified and lineal cruiserweight champion, and currently the WBA World Heavyweight Champion. His last fight was a 3rd Round TKO win on Haye vs Harrison, November 2010.
The Klitschko vs Haye video will be a heavyweight division title match with Wladimir’s IBO, IBF, WBO and The Ring as well as Haye’s WBA belts at stake.
After David became the undisputed cruiserweight world champion in 2008, he moved up to the heavyweight division and started challenging the Klitschko brothers.
Haye and the older Klitschko, Vitali, signed a contract in late 2008 to fight in the summer of 2009. However, Vitali pulled out and chose to fight mandatory challenger, Juan Carlos Gomez. David then turned his attention to Wladimir.
After prolonged talks, Wladimir agreed to fight David on the 20th of June in Gelsenkirchen, Germany in 2009 but David pulled out of the bout claiming a back injury, and hoped to postpone the fight until July 11 but didn’t materialized as he was replaced by Ruslan Chagaev.
Two years, after their supposed match, they will finally fight on July 2. Wladimir fought twice more opponents but David is five years younger than him. Although both have impressive knockout ratio in their records, David seems the faster fighter in this match-up.
Who will win in this world heavyweight title unification bout?
This fight’s promotion includes Klitschko vs Haye – Face Off with Max Kellerman.
