The elite players from Eastern and Western Conferences will meet once again in the 60th edition of the annual NBA All-Star basketball game.
Lakers’ guard Kobe Bryant and center Pau Gasol as well as Clippers’ forward Blake Griffin will represent their city as Los Angeles is the 2011 host. The arena had previously hosted the event in 2004.
The East vs West 2011 NBA All-Star Game is set to happen on February 20, 2011 at the Staples Center in LA, California, USA.
The East team will be headed by Orlando Magic’s Dwight Howard who got the second highest vote to start in this game. Along with him, the squad is composed mostly of the Miami Thrice and the Celtic’s Big Four.

While the West squad will be led by this year’s top vote-getter, Bryant, who earlier launched his The Black Mamba movie.
Also on the team is the Clippers’ rookie sensation forward who has been very busy this weekend. After he played at the Rookie Challenge, Blake Griffin dunks over a car and became the new dunk champ, check out the Slam Dunk Contest 2011 video.

Last year, the Eastern squad won the exhibition game over the Western team by only two points and Heat’s Dwyane Wade was awarded as the game’s Most Valuable Player.
It’s gonna be an exciting match-up for sure as there are lots of high-flyers present headed by the “High Griffinition”.

The West All-Stars defeated the East with a final score of 148-143.
Kobe Bryant led the Western Conference team with a game-high 37 points and 14 rebounds with 3 assists while Kevin Durant added 34, Pau Gasol, 17, Russell Westbrook, 12 and Chris Paul, 10 points.
On a losing effort, Eastern Conference squad’s LeBron James got a triple double; 29 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists, while Amar’e Stoudemire also added 29, Dwyane Wade, 14, Chris Bosh, also 14, Ray Allen, 12, Derrick Rose, 11 and Joe Johnson, 11 points.
King James joined Michael Jordan as the only players in All-Star game history to record a triple-double but his team’s late-game rally wasn’t enough to pull an upset.
Bryant was awarded as the 2011 NBA All-Star Game MVP. He tied Bob Pettit’s record with four honors apiece.
