While Vitor Belfort was successful in his second return to the UFC after he defeated Rich Franklin via 1st Round KO in his fight last September 2009.
At 19 wins and 8 losses, the Brazilian is the #6 Middleweight as ranked by the same site. “The Phenom” is a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.

Anderson was expected to defend his title against Vitor on January 2, 2010 at UFC 108, however, the fight was postponed as the champ would not be fully recovered from his surgery. They were rescheduled to face each other on February 6, 2010 at UFC 109 but again the bout was canceled due to the title holder’s slow recovery.

The bout was awarded the Fight of the Night & Submission of the Night and eventually voted as the Fight of the Year. A rematch was suppose to be scheduled but was revoked because the challenger was tested positive for banned substances.
