Participating in the NBA 3-Point Contest for 2011 are a combination of young shooters and veterans. And they are; Ray Allen from the Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant, Cleveland Cavaliers’ Daniel Gibson, James Jones from Miami, Celtics’ Paul Pierce and Dorell Wright from Golden State Warriors.
Pierce won last year’s competition and will try his best to defend the title this year while Allen, who won the contest in 2001 as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks aims to capture his second trophy.
Among champions of this shootout, Jeff Hornacek, Jason Kapono, Mark Price and Peja Stojakovic each won two titles while Larry Bird and Craig Hodges both got three straight.
The 2011 Foot Locker Three-Point Contest video is part of this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend that is set to happen at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, USA on February 19, 2011.
As of Feb 7, these are their shooting percentage for beyond the arc. Allen is on .462, Cavs’ Gibson is at .439, Heat’s Jones at .427, Warriors’ Wright on .409, Pierce at .401 and Thunder’s leading scorer Durant at .347.
Who among these sharpshooters do you think will be crown as the best 3-point shooter?

After the initial round, three Eastern Conference shooters advanced to the finals. Celtics’ Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, who both previously won the competition, and Heat’s James Jones.
In the final round, Pierce shot first and put pressure on the two other guys as he scored 18. James didn’t blink as he surpassed the bar with 20, but Ray Allen who surpassed Reggie Miller in the NBA All-Time 3-point shots made came up short as he only scored 15.
James Jones was awarded as this year’s 3-Point Contest Champion.
