WEC 53 Henderson vs Pettis Results

Two champions faced their respective challengers in the last event of the World Extreme Cagefighting. WEC merged with UFC as announced a few weeks ago.

Cruz defeated Jorgensen via Unanimous Decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45) to retain the WEC Bantamweight Championship and become the first UFC Bantamweight Champion.

• Bart Palaszewski vs Kamal Shalorus – Lightweight

Shalorus defeated Palaszewski via Split Decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28).

• Eddie Wineland vs Ken Stone – Bantamweight

Wineland defeated Stone via KO (slam) at 2:11 of round 1.

• Danny Castillo vs Will Kerr – Lightweight

Castillo defeated Kerr via KO (punches) at 1:25 of round 1.

• Ricardo Lamas vs Yuri Alcantara – Lightweight

Alcantara defeated Lamas via KO (punches) at 3:26 of round 1.

• Renan Barao vs Chris Cariaso – Bantamweight

Barao defeated Cariaso via Submission (rear naked choke) at 3:47 of round 1.
