Ben Henderson successfully defended his undisputed title after winning his fight last April 2010 in a Submission of the Night performance on Henderson vs Cerrone 2.
With a 12 wins and 1 loss record, the American is a black belt in Taekwondo and a brown one in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. “Smooth” is going to defend his WEC Lightweight championship once again.
While Anthony Pettis also came off a Submission of the Night win in his fight last August 2010 on Roller vs Pettis.
At 11 wins and 1 loss, the American also known as “Showtime” is a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo.
The Henderson vs Pettis video that is the main event of WEC 53 is set to happen on at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on December 11, 2010.
With the recent merger of WEC with UFC, this will be the last live event of the World Extreme Cagefighting wherein Ben will defend his title.
The winner of this bout will fight for the championship unification of the WEC and the UFC Lightweight title belts next year.. Either Ben or Anthony will face the winner of UFC 125′s Frankie Edgar versus Gray Maynard match.
