On the last Episode 9, two of the four quarterfinal fights were held. Sako “The Armenian Psycho” Chivitchian faced Jonathan Brookins while Nam The Hitman Phan fought Cody “Big Time” McKenzie.
Here comes The Ultimate Fighter Season 12 Episode 10 with a title of “Spinning Tornado” that is scheduled to air on November 17, 2010 at 10 PM ET / PT live on Spike TV.
Coming into the fight, Sako is undefeated as a professional MMA fighter and holds a black belt in Judo while Jonathan has more experience in terms of number of fights. The latter’s most notable bout was when he lost via 3rd Round TKO against Jose Aldo at WEC 36 in 2008.
For the first quarterfinal match-up, Brookins eliminated Chivitchian out of the tournament by defeating him via 1st Round Submission by rear naked choke in 2 minutes 5 minutes.
Then on the second quarterfinal bout, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Quyen Dao black belter Nam Phan defeated the guillotine specialist Cody McKenzie via 2nd Round Technical Knock Out by punches in 2 minutes and 54 seconds.
After his student won, yellow team coach Josh Koscheck stormed in the cage and loudly celebrated the win that seems like he’s taunting the beaten fighter. Can’t blame him for acting like that as Cody and him had their share of trash talks in the previous parts of the show.
Red team coach Georges St-Pierre admitted that this act by Kos got under his skin and he said that this will motivate him much more for their upcoming match at UFC 124 live stream.
For The Ultimate Fighter Season 12 Episode 10, legendary trainer of the pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao, Freddie Roach visits them to teach some boxing skills.
Then, the last two quarterfinal fights happen. Aaron Wilkinson vs Kyle Watson and Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres vs Michael Johnson. Dana White also announces the match-ups for the semifinals.
