Sarangani province congressman, Manny Pacquiao, is back in Sports Illustrated’s 20 highest-earning international athletes for 2010.

This year’s list features seven soccer players, five motor-sports racers, three tennis players, two NBA stars, two baseball players and one boxer, Fighter of the Decade, Pacquiao.

The boxing’s pound-for-pound king ranked 5th in the 2010 list with $38 million as tennis superstar, Roger Federer, took this year’s top spot with over $61 million.

Federer made a huge jump from 9th last year while Pacquiao ranked 3rd.

His $38 million earnings came from salaries, bonuses, endorsement incomes and appearance fees.

His earnings from the 12th Round Technical Knock Out win on Pacquiao vs Cotto and his Unanimous Decision victory on Pacquiao vs Clottey at the Cowboys Stadium were included because both fights occurred within the July ’09 to June 2010 time frame.



Soccer players; Lionel Messi, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo ranked second, third and fourth respectively in the 2010 Sports Illustrated 20 highest-earning international athletes list.

From his humble beginnings at Pacquita to the top of the boxing world, seven-division world champion Manny Pacquiao edged 15 other international sports superstars such as Yao Ming and Dirk Nowitzki (basketball), Ichiro Suzuki and Miguel Cabrera (baseball), Rafael Nadal and Maria Sharapova (tennis), Kaka, Thierry Henry, Ronaldinho and Carlos Tevez (soccer) and Valentino Rossi, Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Raikkonen, Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso (motor-sports racers).
