Yuri Foreman is back on the boxing ring to defend his WBA World Super Welterweight title belt against former world champion, Miguel Cotto.
The boxing super welterweight title Miguel Cotto vs Yuri Foreman fight video dubbed as “Stadium Slugfest” is set to take place on June 5, 2010 live at the Yankee Stadium in Bronx, New York, USA and on HBO WCB (World Championship Boxing).
Miguel Cotto, “Junito”, from Puerto Rico has a current professional record of 34 wins (27 by way of knock out, KO) and 2 losses. He’s a former WBO World Junior Welterweight Champion and former WBA and WBO World Welterweight Champion. His last fight was a 12th Round Technical Knock Out loss against Manny Pacquiao, November 2009.
While Yuri Foreman from Israel has a current professional record of a perfect 28 wins (8 by way of knock out, KO) and 1 no contest. He’s the curent WBA World Super Welterweight Champion and his last fight was a Unanimous Decision win over Daniel Santos, November 2009.
The Cotto vs Foreman video will be a super welterweight division title match with Foreman’s WBA belt at stake.
Cotto’s 2 losses came from boxing’s top fighters. He was knocked out by Antonio Margarito in eleven rounds last July 2008 on Cotto vs Margarito and was also recently knocked out by Pacquiao in twelve rounds last November 2009 on Pacquiao vs Cotto. Both fights were world title defense by Cotto.
For Foreman, he became Israel’s first world boxing champion and this is his first world title defense. This will be a tough test for him as Cotto packs power punching in both hands. Can he use his speed to his advantage against the former world champion?
Miguel Angel Cotto is aiming for a world championship belt in third weight division. Does he still has enough power left in his tank to win this one and prove critics wrong?

Miguel Cotto (35-2-0) defeated Yuri Foreman (28-1-0) via 9th Round Knock Out (KO) in 42 seconds to win the WBA World Super Welterweight title belt.
From the early rounds, it was a game of I’ll hit you then chase me as Foreman constantly did as Cotto chases him. Yuri showed a lot of side to side movements that made Miguel focus on landing his shots. Despite this, the Puerto Rican had been in control of the fight.
Unfortunately for the defending champ, Foreman slipped in round seven and badly twisted his right knee then later slipped again before the round ends that worsen the pain.
After that incident, Foreman was never the same again. He could hardly move around the ring and limping on his right knee. Cotto took advantage of this until the referee stopped the fight in round nine.

Cotto won his 3rd world title in his third weight division. A Cotto vs Margarito 2 rematch is possible or maybe a Pacquiao vs Cotto 2. What do you think?

Cotto regaining his boxing name against Foreman who is building his name in boxing. Who will win?
This is the question that will be answered by this bout. Me, go for Cotto but wait don’t underestimate Foreman

Foreman fought like a true champion but unfortunately an old knee injury limited his movements in later rounds.
Still, heads up for the now former champ for continuing to fight despite the injury.

I would like to see cotto vs margarito, pacquiao is just too quick. I truly think if not mentally affected by the first fight, cotto can pull a W against margarito. The whole hand wrap scandal I think help in destroying cotto’s face in the last fight. i think a rematch is well deserved.

I too would like to see a Cotto vs Margarito 2 rematch.
It may happen because both boxers are now on the super welterweight division but Margarito must get back his US license first.
