Mark your calendars as July 1 is just a few days away, What’s with this day? It’s the beginning of testing the open market for the 2010 NBA free agents.

This is probably the most talented crop of free agents in basketball history and leading the pack is two-time NBA regular season MVP (Most Valuable Player) from the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James.

James who was the number one overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft also already won two All-Star game MVPs. He already reached the Finals in 2007 but failed to win the trophy as the San Antonio Spurs swept the Cavs.

Recently in the NBA Playoffs, the Cavaliers won over Bulls in the first round but the Celtics beat the Cavaliers in the next round

The five teams that have the most money to spend for the 2010 NBA free agents are; New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, New Jersey Nets and Los Angeles Clippers.

As the NBA free agency this year fast approaches, will LeBron James suit up on one of these five teams for the upcoming season or will he stay as a Cavalier?

Here are the top prospects among the 2010 NBA free agents:



LeBron James from Cleveland Cavaliers. James is the 2009 and 2010 NBA Regular Season MVP, 2006 and 2008 All-Star Game MVP, 2008 Scoring Champion, 2004 NBA Rookie of the Year and a six-time All-Star.

Chris Bosh from Toronto Raptors. Bosh is a five-time NBA All-Star.

Dirk Nowitzki from Dallas Mavericks. Nowitzki is the 2007 NBA Regular Season MVP and a nine-time All-Star.

Amar’e Stoudemire from Phoenix Suns. Stoudemire is the 2003 NBA Rookie of the Year and a five-time All-Star.

Other high profile players in the 2010 NBA free agents list are; Joe Johnson (Atlanta Hawks), Carlos Boozer (Utah Jazz), Yao Ming and Luis Scola (Houston Rockets), Rudy Gay (Memphis Grizzlies), David Lee (New York Knicks), Paul Pierce and Ray Allen (Boston Celtics), Shaquille O’Neal (Cleveland Cavaliers) (Update: O’Neal joins the Boston Celtics), Josh Childress (Olympiakos Pireus, European team), Tyrus Thomas (Chicago Bulls), John Salmons (Milwaukee Bucks), Richard Jefferson (San Antonio Spurs).
