The defending World Cup Champions, Italy national football team, will try their best to capture this year’s title.
The 2010 FIFA World Cup is a month-long soccer tournament that is scheduled to happen starting on June 11, 2010 up to July 11, 2010. Watch it live at the official venues in South Africa.
This is the 19th FIFA World Cup. This will be the first time that the premier international football tournament has been hosted by an African nation, after South Africa defeated Morocco and Egypt in an all-African bidding process.
From the 204 out of the 208 FIFA national teams, the 32 teams that will play in this year’s tourney were determined via qualification draw last November 2007 and the team’s seeding were established after the Final Draw last December. Here is the seeding;
- Group A – South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay, France
- Group B – Argentina, Nigeria, Korea Republic, Greece
- Group C – England, United States, Algeria, Slovenia
- Group D – Germany, Australia, Serbia, Ghana
- Group E – Netherlands, Denmark, Japan, Cameroon
- Group F – Italy, Paraguay, New Zealand, Slovakia
- Group G – Brazil, Korea DPR, Côte d’Ivoire, Portugal
- Group H – Spain, Switzerland, Honduras, Chile
