The C’s Rondo has been putting up career high basketball stats in his young NBA career especially this 2009-2010 NBA Season. In case you don’t know him, here’s a brief info.

Rajon Rondo was selected by the Phoenix Suns in the 2006 NBA Draft (Round 1, Pick 21). He was then traded to the Boston Celtics where he’s still playing presently. Listed at 6’1″, he’s the Celtics’ current starting point guard.

Rajon Rondo’s jersey number is “9″. He already won an NBA Championship ring in 2008 when the Celtics’ Big Three composed of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce was formed.

And now for Rajon Rondo’s 2009-2010 NBA Season monster achievements!

Rajon Rondo signed a five-year extension with the Boston Celtics worth a guaranteed at least $55 Million USD last November 2009. He then averaged career highs in points (13.7), assists (9.8) and steals (2.3). He also became the first Celtic to lead the league in steals.

He recorded his third regular-season career triple-double last January 10, 2010 against the Toronto Raptors, by scoring 22 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and pin-pointing 13 assists.

Rondo received his first NBA All-Star selection as a reserve on the Eastern Conference squad for the 2010 NBA All-Star Game.

He recorded his fourth regular-season career triple-double last March 24, 2010 against the Denver Nuggets with these stats; 11 points, 11 rebounds and 15 assists.

Rajon Rondo broke the Celtics’ franchise record for most steals and most assists in a single-season held by Rick Fox (167 steals) and Bob Cousy (715 assists). He got 189 steals and 794 assists this season.

He’s also included in the 2010 NBA All-Defensive First Team.

2010 NBA Playoffs Run!

In the Boston Celtics vs Miami Heat 2010 First Round, the C’s defeated the Heat in five games, 4-1.

In Game 2 of the Cleveland Cavaliers vs Boston Celtics 2010 Conference Semifinals, Rondo tied his career high with 19 assists as well as tying the franchise record for most assists in a playoff game.

In Game 4 against the Cavs, Rondo recorded his fourth postseason triple-double along with a playoff career-high 29 points and 18 rebounds (great stat considering he’s a point guard). And this not just an ordinary playoff triple-double.

Rajon Rondo joined two other players in NBA history, Wilt Chamberlain and Oscar Robertson, in the elite group to have at least 29 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists in a playoff game.

With Rondo growing season by season, he’s already included in the Celtics’ Big Four. It’s possible sooner that he might become the Big One as the age factor affects the Big Three.
