From his popular “I’m back.” in 1995 to his return as a Wizard in 2001. Jordan’s comebacks have been well-documented in basketball history. And recently, talks about an MJ comeback once again start to rise. But where?
If you speculated that Michael Jordan on NBA 2K11 basketball game a possibility, then it might just happen.
Jordan will step again on the court with this generation’s bright stars. In an actual court? More appropriately a virtual one. According to an ESPN report, “multiple sources” have told them that 2K Sports signed Michael Jordan as it’s new spokesman and will appear as the cover athlete for NBA 2K11.
I’m sure lots of basketballs fans will be thrilled until the Michael Jordan NBA 2K11 cover featuring the new Bobcats majority owner is officially unveiled.
Also, the sports network reported that a speculation that Jordan will be digitized and be included as playable baller in the game. Additionally, referred as “whispers”, 2K Sports is in negotiating process with his former teammates and notable opponents during the Chicago Bulls era to recreate and relive the heated Air Jordan rivalries.
I haven’t bought an NBA 2K game in a while because I prefer their rival’s game. But this time, if this pushes through, I’ll buy this game with Michael Jordan on NBA 2K11 cover.

Michael Jordan will be the NBA 2K11 Cover Athlete.
According to CNBC’s report last June 2, the 2K Sports’ Vice President of Marketing, Jason Argent, confirmed to CNBC that Michael Jordan will appear on the cover of NBA 2K11 that’s scheduled to be released on October 5, 2010.
“We’ve made a lot of progress over the past 10 years, but we know we have the best NBA video game ever made here,” Argent said. “So we thought to ourselves how can we embody that and there was only one person on that list who we wanted to have and that was Michael Jordan. Actually getting this done is the most ridiculous win of all-time.”

July 8, 2010 Update: Official NBA 2K11 Cover Art unveiled.
Today, 2K Sports revealed the official cover art for NBA 2K11 featuring Michael Jordan as the cover athlete.
“We knew as soon as we signed Jordan that we needed to do something special for the cover,” Vice President of marketing for 2K Sports, Jason Argen said. “This could possibly be the most highly anticipated cover art in the history of sports games and we think the image we came up with delivers on every front. I think fans will be pleasantly surprised at how Jordan is actually used in game, as NBA 2K11 will pay homage to ‘His Airness’ in many ways, but the cover art represented our first chance to stop and honor him along the way.”

This is the first time that a former player will appear as the cover athlete for 2K Sports and it’s also the first time that a team owner endorses the franchise since MJ’s the majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats.
The NBA 2K11 release date will be on October 5, 2010. Check out the NBA 2K11 trailer.
