Manny Pacquiao (51-3-2) defeated Joshua Clottey (35-4-0) via Unanimous Decision (UD) to retain his WBO World Welterweight title belt.
The first boxing match dubbed as “The Event” held in the Cowboys Stadium located in Arlington, Texas last March 13, 2010 was filled with more than 50,000 people from all over (50,994 to be exact) just to watch the welterweight title match.
Pacquiao dominated almost every round against Clottey. He attacked Joshua’s tortoise style defense continuously and unleashed a lot of body shots that made Clottey grimace in pain in some moments of the fight. He also caught Clottey with an action movie like move, the pompyang punch.
The judges’ score cards were 120-108 and 119-109 (twice), all in favor of Pacquiao.
