Erik Morales beats Jose Alfaro via UD on The Champion Returns

Mexican boxing superstar Erik Morales is ending his retirement by a comeback fight against Jose Alfaro for the vacant WBC International Welterweight title.

The boxing welterweight title Erik Morales vs Jose Alfaro fight video dubbed as “The Champion Returns” is set to take place on March 27, 2010 live in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and on PPV (Pay-Per-View).

Erik Morales, “El Terrible“, from Mexico has a boxing professional record of 48 wins (34 by way of knock out, KO) and 6 losses. He has won world championships in 3 different boxing weight divisions and his last fight was a Unanimous Decision loss against David Diaz that prompted his retirement, August 2007.

While Jose Alfaro, “Quiebra Jicara“, from Nicaragua has a current professional record of 23 wins (20 by way of knock out, KO) and 5 losses. He’s a former WBA World Lightweight Champion and he just came off a 10th Round Technical Knock Out loss against Antonio DeMarco, October 2009.

The Morales vs Alfaro video will be a welterweight division title match for the vacant WBC International belt.

Morales lost five of his last six fights before retiring. The only win out of six came when he beat Manny Pacquiao in their first meeting last January 2006. Eventually, Pacquiao bounced back by knocking him out on the next two fights of their epic trilogy handing him the two out of his six losses.

This bout will be a debut for both boxers in the welterweight division. Can Morales win this fight and prove to everyone that he still has what it takes to become a world champion once more?

Erik Morales (49-6-0) defeated Jose Alfaro (23-5-0) via Unanimous Decision (UD) to win the vacant WBC International Welterweight title belt.

Right from the opening bell, both fighters thrown and took lots of punches but the Mexican Legend, Morales showed his old fire on this match and proved to everyone that he’s back!

The judges’ score cards were 117-111 and 116-112 (twice), all in favor of Morales.
